Hey, I’m Cody, a CPA located just outside Chicago. I founded Builders Tax Group after 12 years at a Top 200 CPA firm. Throughout my career, I’ve helped hundreds of business owners optimize their taxes and take control of their finances.
I founded Builders Tax Group with the goal of empowering construction business owners with the financial insights and support they need to build a successful, sustainable business. My passion for the construction industry stems from my family’s history in the trades. My Grandpa Harry was a union carpenter and heavy equipment operator that built bridges over the Mississippi River. My Grandpa Fred was a welder and helped assemble heavy equipment.
My dad built the house I grew up in and works as a plant manager at a power steering component manufacturer. I have uncles and cousins that work as electricians, HVAC technicians, road builders, diesel mechanics, and more. I’m the oddball that pursued a desk job.
When not working, I enjoy spending time with my wife and daughter. As much as possible, I strive to get outdoors whether it’s hunting, fishing, or hiking.
